Traditional Japanese Ramen

A delicious homemade Japanese ramen featuring savory noodles, tender pork, and fresh toppings in a rich broth.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups chicken or pork broth
  • 8 oz ramen noodles
  • 1 lb pork belly, sliced
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 thumb-sized ginger piece, sliced
  • 4 green onions, chopped
  • 2 soft-boiled eggs, halved
  • 1/4 cup bamboo shoots
  • Nori seaweed sheets, for garnish
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add pork belly slices to the pot and cook until browned.
  3. Pour in chicken or pork broth and bring to a simmer.
  4. Add soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Let the broth simmer for about 20 minutes to develop flavors.
  5. In a separate pot, cook ramen noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  6. After the broth has simmered, remove pork belly and set aside. Slice thinly.
  7. To serve, divide noodles into bowls, pour over the hot broth, and arrange pork slices on top.
  8. Garnish each bowl with soft-boiled egg halves, bamboo shoots, nori, and chopped green onions.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy your homemade Japanese ramen.

Feel free to add your favorite vegetables or protein to customize this dish.
